We are recruiting for a Level 3 Nursery Nurse to working in a fantastic Nursery in Gloucester.

About the Nursery Nurse position

  • Permanent position in a day nursery
  • The nursery offers 76 Child places split between six base rooms/
  • Full time work- shift patterns between 7.00am and 6.30pm, Monday – Friday, variation of early and lates
  • Level 3 qualification a must- full and relevant to Childcare
  • Safeguarding knowledge must be superb
  • Desirable: good knowledge of the EYFS, or a willingness to be taught and guided
  • Previous experience working with children in a similar role
  • You will be responsible for working with a group of key children; planning, observations, next steps, learning journals, baseline and progress reports
  • Working in a team environment
  • Be committed to parent partnership events and going the extra mile to enhance the day nurseries fantastic reputation with its parents and new prospects
  • Using initiative, showing your passion for working with young children and having a positive attitude are also requirements to this job
  • Salary- £9.10 per hour

Responsibilities for the Nursery Nurse

  • Provide high standards of quality within the nursery including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.
  • Observe, support and extend children’s learning through planning appropriately for children using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance
  • Maintain accurate and effective children’s records
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members
  • Demonstrate good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion.
  • Work with the Childcare and Education team to continuously improve quality of childcare and education.
  • Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand, and when necessary, follow, Safeguarding Procedures.
  • Ensure that the nutritional needs of the children are met and that Food Safety Regulations are complied with.
  • Work with area SENCOs, EYFS advisors, health professionals and local Sure Start programmes as appropriate.
  • Comply with the Statutory Framework for the EYFS.
  • Develop and maintain highly professional working relationships with advisory teachers, schools, area SENCOs and other agencies that may visit the setting
  • Learn about current developments in childcare and education policy and practice.
  • Be a Key Person, carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families.

Requirements for the Nursery Nurse

  • Minimum Level 3 childcare qualification (full and relevant)
  • Sound knowledge of what safeguarding is and your role within safeguarding
  • Sound knowledge of the EYFS
  • Have a good standard of grammar, punctuation and report writing
